A wedding abroad was not on the cards after Amy fell in love with her perfect princess dress. Our WED2B Real Weddings Bristol feature reveals more:

When Amy had just started secondary school, Aaron was in the final year. "All the girls had a crush on him, he was the school's heartthrob!" 17 years down the line he followed Amy on Twitter and from there a romance began to bloom. They arranged to meet at Winyards Gap, a pub in Dorset for their first date. "It was a perfect setting for a first date," Amy says, "The rest, as they say, is history!"

Aaron took Amy back to Winyards Gap two years on from their romantic first date. There was an incredible lightning storm on that evening, "the gardens were full of people watching it over the hills," says Amy. When Aaron felt the time was right, he got down on one knee. "I was in utter shock! It was the best night of my life!"

The perfect princess gown

Amy wore the elegant lace a-line gown, Leah, by Anna Sorrano. "I honestly tried on about 25 dresses!" Amy says, "I had seen Leah on the WED2B website but it didn't really appeal to me." Just before leaving empty-handed, Amy's mum persuaded her to try it on. "I'm so pleased she did!" As soon as it was fitted, she knew it was the perfect princess dress for her and told her mum and bridesmaids so.

To add a little vavoom to the skirt, Amy purchased an underskirt to give it a bigger bounce. She then finished the whole look off with the beautiful Olympia belt.

"The girls in store were fantastic," says Amy, "nothing was too much trouble and they knew the dresses inside out. I really valued their opinions."

Wedding Dress - Leah

The Princess and the Beach

Before trying on dresses, Amy and Aaron had in mind a beach wedding with their nearest and dearest. "Originally we booked to get married on Kampouri Beach in Ayia Napa, Cyprus," Amy says, "then when I visited WED2B and fell in love with Leah, I knew that a beach wedding wasn't for me."

In the end, 18th century The Manor Hotel in Yeovil was the perfect space to spend their happy day. "Both of my sisters were married there and the package was everything we wanted."

The big day

Amy's day started when her sister arrived, she was the hairdresser for the day. "She was amazing and did all of our hair before going home to get herself and the flower girls ready," Amy says. Makeup was started at 11am and then before she knew it, 2pm had arrived, "the day flew by!"

The ceremony began at 3pm. For Amy, music is an important part of a wedding day, "it's one thing from wedding's that always stays with me!" Therefore, she spent ages trying to find the perfect music for her day. "I walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of Latch by Sam Smith and we left the ceremony to I Choose You by Sara Bareilles".

During the ceremony, Amy's daughter surprised the couple with a reading, "I was immensely proud of my daughter, I had no idea she was going to do it!"

With the ceremony over, Amy and Aaron greeted their guests with prosecco before heading off for the garden to have photo's done. Speeches were made just before dinner, where one of Amy's funniest moments of the day was created, "the best men gave a fantastic double-act speech, they had everyone in stitches with their stories of my new husband!"

At 7:30, the 'selfie-mirror' that was hired arrived, along with a further 150 guests. "It was so fantastic sharing the day with our families and friends!" Amy says.

Wedding Cake

Wedding fairy godmother

Scouting Facebook, Amy found a wedding planner called A Creative Creation by Claire. "She was amazing! I told her my colour scheme and showed her the sort of things I liked and left it all to her." When Amy walked into her venue 2 hours before the ceremony she "cried her eyes out". The room was covered in rustic detailing just as she'd hoped for, "She did the best job!"

Wedding Decor

Amy wanted to add a few personal touches herself. She added specially made signs and funny placemats to the tables. For their favours, the gave away scratchcards in personalised wallets. M&M's with the couple's picture and names were also made and dotted around the room.

Amy's top tips

Amy's advice for future brides is "do the wedding earlier! We had ours at 3pm and the day just flew by. Before I knew it, it was midnight and the guests were saying goodbye!"
